Jonas Grossman

Jonas Grossman is Managing Partner and President of Chardan, where he oversees the firm’s banking and capital markets activities.  He has broad transactional experience, having led or managed more than 400 transactions, including providing underwriting and business combination advisory services to more than 100 special purpose acquisition companies across a variety of industries.

Mr. Grossman has been a founder and/or a member of the board of six special purpose acquisition companies that have successfully closed business combinations, three of which he also led as Chief Executive Officer and President: Chardan NexTech Acquisition 2 Corp,. from August 2021 through its merger with Dragonfly Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: DFLI) in October 2022; Chardan Healthcare Acquisition 2 Corp, from April 2020 until its merger with Renovacor, Inc. (NYSE: RCOR) in September 2021, and Chardan Healthcare Acquisition Corp. from March 2018 until its merger in October 2019 with BiomX Ltd. (NYSE: PHGE). Following the latter two mergers, Mr. Grossman remained as a board member of Renovacor until it was acquired by Rocket Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: RCKT) in November 2022, and as a board member of BiomX until January 2023. Other special purpose acquisitions that he founded and/or served as a board member of are: Ventoux CCM Acquisition Corp. from December 2020 until its merger with Presto Automation (NASDAQ: PRST) in September 2022, CleanTech Acquisition Corp. from July 2021 until its merger with Nauticus Robotics (NASDAQ: KITT) in September 2022 and LifeSci Acquisition Corp., from March 2020 until the close of its business combination with Vincera Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: VINC) in December 2020. Currently, Mr. Grossman serves as the Executive Chairman of Monterey Innovation Acquisition Corp. Mr. Grossman joined Chardan in 2003 from Ramius Capital Group, LLC, a global multi-strategy hedge fund, where he served as Vice President and Head Trader from 2001 through 2003.

Mr. Grossman holds a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He has served on the board of directors for UNICEF since December 2016.
